The foundation was founded by Roxanne Hermanstyne, inspired by a personal experience when her aunt was diagnosed with cancer in Guyana. Witnessing the difficulties in accessing medical resources in underserved regions, she committed to bridging that gap for communities across Guyana and the wider Caribbean.
