Many rural communities in Guyana face growing concerns related to physical inactivity, limited access to wellness education, and reduced opportunities for organized community health events. Community-based wellness initiatives are especially important in villages where access to recreational programs, health awareness activities, and preventative health education may be limited.

The Annual East Coast 5K was created to promote:

About the Region

The Annual East Coast 5K is held yearly in November in Victoria Village, Guyana – a historic village located on the East Coast of Demerara. Victoria is recognized as one of the first villages purchased by formerly enslaved Africans in Guyana after emancipation and remains a culturally rich and community-oriented area today.

The event focuses on serving the East Coast community and surrounding rural villages by promoting wellness, unity, education, and community empowerment.

What We Have Done

The Blueprint Foundation Inc. successfully hosts the Annual East Coast 5K as a completely free annual community wellness event in Victoria Village, Guyana. The initiative promotes physical health, education, community togetherness, and social development for residents of all ages.

The event includes:
